About the Artist:

Ouida was born and raised in Valdosta, GA, and started her “art” career working alongside her dad. Raised in the professional photography business, her dad taught her about color, light and dark, and how to see perspective. Ouida worked for the family business throughout her young adult life while perfecting her art abilities through a variety of mediums.

As a way to support her art career, Ouida became a profession picture framer, finally owning her own gallery, ArtEffects. Forever the painter, Ouida works primarily in acrylic and watercolor, but has created art out of found objects, hand-made paper, and mixed media. Ouida, however, is eclectic in her abilities and often strays from painting into the world of jewelry or other hand-made delights.

Ouida’s primary style of painting is Tonalism, that of painting muted landscapes without physical structures. Her current work reflects this style of painting and allows for experimentation in a variety of color palettes and landscape choices.

Ouida currently resides in Elkhart, IN with her spouse, dog, and cat.

Ouida Lampert is an artist who specializes in capturing the memory of place. Her landscapes evoke thoughts of favorite vistas and landscapes, the places we recall forever in our hearts. Ouida especially loves painting Georgia’s marshes and coasts, the places of her childhood and early adult vacations.

Ouida’s current collection is called “Places Unnamed.” The buyer of each piece will name the work. All paintings come with a certificate of authenticity which will be mailed after naming with a personal note from the artist. Framing when needed, art lighting and placement services are available additions through TEC Interiors.

We hope that buyers will find within these original artworks memory and meaning. Commissioned works are available, including large works.
